The six parks that lie along the trail are Creekside Park near Great Oaks Drive, Olsen Meadows Park, Champion Park, Brushy Creek Lake Park, Brushy Creek Sports Park, and Twin Lakes Park near 183 in Cedar Park. These parks provide many different amenities accessible to walkers, runners and bikers. Together, the parks have a collaboration of splash pads, swimming areas, climbing rocks, fishing docks, canoeing and kayaking, restrooms and multiple picnic and pavilion areas. The trail links residential communities, businesses and retail centers and existing and proposed parks while promoting conservation and stewardship of open space, greenbelts and wetlands. <br />
The goal for the trail is for it to traverse the County covering approximately 30 miles, connecting the Highland Lakes to Hutto, and linking the Brushy Creek Regional Trail with other trail systems in Travis County. The City of Round Rock and Williamson County are currently working on the newest section of the east trail that will continue the regional trail west to A.W. Grimes Boulevard and connect to the Greater Lake Creek Trail System. With this addition, the total length of the Brushy Creek Regional Trail East will be 3.75 miles. Together, Round Rock and Williamson County will continue to push the two sections of trail toward IH-35, eventually connecting the east section with the west section.
The newest opening of phase III brings the trail to an impressive length of 6.75 miles and has extensive landscaping and scenic views. The trail meanders along Brushy Creek from just east of Great Oaks Drive west to US 183 in Cedar Park and offers a relaxing atmosphere with the convenience of being minutes away from many bustling communities.
